Developing Client Trust
It is very important to build trust among your clients in order to take your business to your expected level of success. Your clients want to hear or they need to believe that you understand them well and their key businesses goals and objectives as well, even before they are willing and ready to commit.

The foremost thing that you and your clients should share is honesty. Without this element, you are on the back foot from the very start of your business. Being totally I honest from your first meeting, to managing the clients' expectations in a realistic manner, and reporting everything from good to bad news, will develop your status with your clients.

There is a reality you will discover, while you should all aim to provide clients with positive news, but throughout a supplier contract term or business relationship, you will have certain situations when negative information needs to be conveyed. Clients would like to hear what you as the supplier or account manager is going to do about it. Moreover, they will want to hear what assurances you will be installing to limit risks in the future. This actually builds respect and integrity and a refreshing change from people that hide away, that are not even planned.

Never do false promises or say that you will be able to help your clients' businesses. As a business owner, you should be like thanks but how. Also never promise like, "we can save you money" or "with our products you can become more efficient". These may sound very nice but these are in reality unproven. You should know and understand your clients' businesses , properly, how it operates and what its business objectives before making such statements.
