With increase in competition, high regulation, lack of skills and red tape has led to numerous changes in the business environment.  On top of this, factors like market recession and economic fluctuations all adds to disaster circumstances like unproductive conflicts.

The best way to counteract this problem is to bring productive conflict into picture. Productive conflicts help bring out important issues and ideas that can lead to improvement in employee performance. Some of the popular business managers  suggest that a good decision can be taken only after a good argument. We all know that compromise results in give up on interesting, exciting and radical ideas, which means we are left with decisions that are distinctive and not  meaningful.

One needs to be clear that, need for change and an longing for change doesn't mean the same thing. Only encouraging and productive conflicts can help to overcome such circumstance.

Although, the moment we talk of conflict images of  high tempers, angry words, heated arguments comes up. As majority of people are introvert and feel reluctant in engaging themselves in any form of conflict. The main reason behind this is, that many of us aren't aware that there are two forms of conflict: destructive conflict and productive conflict.

One can deal with conflict situation positively only with skills and self-control. Destructive conflicts are mainly centers around individual needs rather than what’s best for the team.  They can be termed as battle of opinions and results in no benefit for a business. Whereas, if a person  is involved in productive conflicts, then they try to understand other point of view as well. Thus, the decision taken is beneficial and improves business growth.

The best way to know whether a conflict is productive or not. Try to understand, whether the problem is beneficial for the business or not. If the answer is yes, then you must bring out the topic for discussion with others.
