A good weather is the perfect time to ride a motorcycle. But before you start the engine there are a few things that you must consider.
  • Safety – It is the most important point to consider. Have a good look at the spark plugs and oil. Make sure to drain out last year's gas. You should also check brake parts and clutch to see whether they are in good working conditions. It is also essential to check tire wear, air pressure and lights before you ride your bike.
  • Road Conditions – You must also take into account the road conditions. It is unsafe to ride on a road covered with ice and snow therefore make sure they are melted. Be aware of pot holes, loose gravels
and sand while riding your bike.
  • Protective gear – You should have all the protective gear according to the weather conditions. You may think that the weather is great but hypothermia can hit fast and hard at highway speeds. It is important that you wear atleast a good leather coat, chaps, gloves and a hat while riding a bike. All states also require riders to wear some form of eye protection. Make sure to check the forecast before you go for a ride. For example, month of March and April are known for thunder storms so make sure to carry raingear along.
  • Final Look – Before you start your motorcycle engine check your mirrors and get comfortable on your seat.
Be smart and always remember to ride safe.
